Blueberries - Wally One
Blueberries - Wally One
Tophat Blueberry bushes grow to only 2 feet tall and 1.5 feet wide yet yield an impressive amount of berries.
The white blooms in spring are beautiful and, at ½-inch across, are very large on this tiny plant! The berries are sky-blue and delectable, and the light grey-ish green foliage remains over a very long season. This is a great choice for growing fruit vertically!

INDOOR - With a Reservoir - includes a military grade, built-in moisture barrier that wraps around the bottom of the Pocket, from back to front. This barrier creates a reservoir to ensure walls and floors don't get wet. The barrier also conserves water and helps to keep soil's nutrition in your Pocket. Best choice for INDOOR gardens.
OUTDOOR - Without a Reservoir -good for outdoor applications in rainy environments, it has a recessed moisture barrier that allows proper drainage when it rains.

More about the plants...
Blueberries need a soil pH of 4.5 to 5.5, composed of mostly organic matter, like compost or peat, mixed with sand for drainage, and bone meal for nutrients. These blueberries are self-pollinating, but planting them in proximity will increase your opportunity for big fruit yields. They need about an inch of water a week. Fertilizer is a must when growing fruit vertically. An organic, water soluble fertilizer should be used with every watering. Bone meal, earth worm castings, compost, and coco coir make great additions to the soil. Blueberries will usually bloom and fruit in their second year.
You may want to pinch off any blooms the first year the plant blooms to stimulate root development for a bigger fruit crop the next year. Ripe berries will be very easy to harvest. A slight rub with your hand should knock them off the stem. Direct sunlight for at least 8 hours per day is needed for a good harvest. The number of berries produced by the plant is determined by the amount of light it receives. For indoor gardening, a grow light will ensure enough light is provided. Tophat blueberries are a good choice for southern gardeners because they can tolerate warm and even hot conditions.
