Bell Pepper - Woolly Living Wall Planter

74.99

This bell pepper grows on compact plants which produce a bountiful yield of deep-purple peppers following a gorgeous display of small bright lavender flowers. Their mild, sweet flavor and unique color make them a perfect addition to a salad or stuffed pepper dish. Initially a novelty plant due to the unusual pepper color, deep purple bell peppers are now prized for their antioxidants and other healthful components. These peppers turn purple on the plant during an intermediate phase between green and red, lasting only about seven to ten days.

This Kit will come with a Planter (8" tall x 11.75" wide) in your choice of color, the best potting soil for your plants, AND the plants described above.

This planter is made from a hard vented plastic shell that keeps its shape while allowing air circulation for the plants. It is also equipped with a self-watering tank to make watering even easier.

Drip Irrigation

For large installations, we recommend using automatic drip irrigation. 1/4” emitter lines fit inside the watering tank, emitting water evenly down to roots and reservoir. Supply lines hide neatly in the irrigation supply channel located on the left and right sides of every wall planter.

More about the Plants...

  • Temperature: Temp plays a large role in the development of colored peppers. A range of 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal.
  • Soil & Water: Peppers require deeply-worked, well-drained soil with plenty of added organic matter and a pH of 6.0-6.8. Water deeply, but don't over water.
  • Harvesting & Storage: Harvest the first fruits early to encourage continued production through the season. Cut (don't pull) the fruit from the stems. These peppers may be harvested from the green stage through the color changes.
  • Did You Know? Sweet peppers are loaded with vitamins C and A. Red peppers contain twice the vitamin C and eleven times the beta carotene of green peppers.
  • Height At Maturity: 24"-30"
  • Sun/Shade: Full Sun
